3000K CCT Maybe a Sheep’s Cloak for LED Manufacturers

The American Medical Association’s (AMA) report of June 2016 has caused LED manufactures to tout the benefits of “warmer LEDs”. By recommending a maximum color temperature of 3000 Kelvin, the AMA may have opened the flood gate for LEDs to proliferate. The Lighting Research Center at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute has cautioned that Correlated Color Temperature, as relied on by the AMA, is not an effective metric for predicting harm caused by LED streetlights (http://wp.me/p7G7qY-13).
